Personal care supports encompass a wide range of daily personal activities, including but not limited to:

– Personal hygiene, such as showering, bathing, oral hygiene, dressing, and grooming to promote cleanliness and a polished appearance
– Toileting, bladder and bowel management, and menstrual care to ensure comfort and proper health management
– Assistance with eating and drinking to maintain nutrition and hydration
– Accompaniment to and from appointments to ensure clients receive necessary medical attention and other essential services
– The use of aids and appliances, including hearing and communication devices, to enhance daily functioning and independence
– Mobility and transferring assistance, for instance, moving in and out of bed or on and off the toilet, to ensure safety and ease of movement
– Application of splints and basic first aid for injuries sustained due to a participant’s disability, ensuring prompt care and injury management

Personal care supports are tailored to meet the unique needs of participants across a variety of settings.
